Ryan Holmes is the CEO of HootSuite. Thought leader, dog lover and serial entrepreneur, he has redefined the face of social media – bringing Twitter, Facebook and other social networks out of the dorm room and into the boardroom.
Holmes has grown HootSuite from a lean startup to a global leader in social media with over 6 million users, including 79 of the Fortune 100 companies. A college drop-out, he started a paintball company and pizza restaurant before founding Invoke Media, the company that developed HootSuite in 2009.
Today, Holmes is an authority on the social business revolution, quoted in The New York Times and Wall Street Journal and called upon to speak at TEDx and SXSW Interactive Conferences. Through HootSuite University, he partners with major universities to deliver social media coursework to the next generation of business leaders.
VP of Global Strategic Accounts
Brian Bailard is Hootsuite’s VP of Global Strategic Accounts. Brian brings more than 20 years of experience in sales leadership and executive management at firms focused on collaboration, digital marketing, cloud computing and software as a service (SaaS). He is passionate about customer success and building great teams.
Brian has a BS in Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He has founded his own start-up and been involved in a number of high-growth technology businesses. Brian lives near San Francisco with his wife and kids where he is an active volleyball coach, foodie and amateur historian.
Kemp Edmonds is a part-time Instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and a full-time Enterprise Trainer at HootSuite. Kemp is passionate about technology, marketing and communications.
His presentations and appearances in the media focus mainly on the politics of social networks, social media communications, law, online communications for business, and digital culture. When Kemp isn’t teaching in the classroom or giving a presentation, he is enjoying gardening, biking and tutoring entrepreneurs.
VP of Business Development
Gregory Gunn launched the HootSuite Enterprise Sales team and currently heads up partnerships, integrations and international expansion for the social media dashboard leader. His passion for people, technology & data has driven his career towards developing successful SaaS business solutions where the three intersect.
Greg earned both a BCOM from the University of Victoria and an MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Combining practical experience with comprehensive research, Greg was the lead on projects focused around digital strategy, online commerce and hybrid business models. Outside of his professional endeavors Greg can be found enjoying basketball, photography and is a “semi-professional” wedding MC.
Steve Johnson is the Chief Revenue Officer at HootSuite. Steve is a senior level technology executive with experience in start-ups, turn around and mature software companies. Steve has been involved in a number of areas, from strategic accounts, partnerships, web analytics, Software as a Service to database and email marketing applications.
Steve acquired his MBA from Northwestern University with an emphasis in Marketing, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business Management. His passion for start-ups, technology and business development is matched with his passion for charity. He founded a SaaS application called iAbida for special needs children, to help improve team communication. It is now owned by Denver based National Care Connection. Steve also loves to travel and wants to one day go around the world in a jet-pack.
VP of Community
Dave Olson is VP of Community at HootSuite after 2 years as the Marketing Director where he crafted programs and initiatives to spark HootSuite’s rapid international growth. Working with Internet-centric companies since 1996, Dave’s experience includes community building around ISPs, open source web tools, movie promotion, and green business. He also organized a citizen reporting accreditation program during the Vancouver Olympics.
A graduate of Evergreen College in Interdisciplinary Studies, Dave frequently shares his stories about technology, art, and culture at events including SXSW, TEDx, Pecha Kucha, Northern Voice, and industry events for financial services ombudsmen, government agencies, and alternative media. He often appears in TV, radio and documentary films and is an avid producer of podcasts. After living and traveling to 25+ countries, Dave now enjoys exploring his local North Vancouver mountains and forests.
Director of Online Customer Aquisition
Craig Ryomoto, is the Director of Online Customer Acquisition for HootSuite. He cultivates user growth and oversees website optimization for HootSuite. In working with Hootsuite’s large user base, Craig has developed a diverse grasp of web intelligence for multiple industries, as well as the ability to turbo charge user growth for major enterprises.
Craig graduated from Simon Fraser University with an MBA as well as acquiring a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of British Columbia. Over the past seven years, he has augmented and honed online marketing and business intelligence for numerous institutions including Reinvent Technology, SFU, and Jim Pattison’s Overwaitea Food Group. Outside of his digital life, Craig spends his time traveling, playing golf and turning double plays like Jeter Jr. on the baseball field.
Ashley Jane Brookes
Enterprise Customer Marketing Manager
Ashley is the marketing lead for HootSuite’s Enterprise business, focusing on Customer Marketing strategies and Client Success. Since September of 2010 Ashley has helped grow the marketing efforts for the company which has seen growth in excess of 3 million users.
Prior to landing at HootSuite, Ashley’s career set a course developing brand strategies for key clients at Cossette in Vancouver. There she helped develop award-winning brand identities for many of the firm’s largest national and international clients, gaining experience with government, M&E and retail verticals. Most notably, she developed strategies for a Canadian province, a national broadcaster and a billionaire’s club.
Her speaking experience for HootSuite includes various presentations on Social Media Best Practices as well as HootSuite for Tech Startups at the World Summit Awards in Cairo. Outside of the nest she can be found mountainside or oceanside, depending on the season, and partakes in sushi all year round. Ashley has a B.A. in Art History from the University of British Columbia.
Corporate Account Manager
Jennifer Yorke is a founding member of our London, UK office. She is responsible for helping our European clients leverage HootSuite as a part of their integrated marketing strategy. She also ensures new team members have the skills and knowledge they need to be successful HootSuiters. As a member of a start up within a start up, she can go from a detailed social media tactical planning with a large scale brand, to training new hires on active listening, to ensuring the office kitchen has cleaning supplies all in one day. Each day is an adventure.
Prior to starting at HootSuite, Jennifer earned her Master of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology from the University of Waterloo. After school, she moved to Boston and worked in the start up scene, most recently for HubSpot. She has a passion for new business, integrated marketing strategy, and the real world applications of technology. When she’s not on the internet, you can find her traveling with her husband, jogging up a storm, or getting animated with friends over some great food.
Director of Sales, EMEA
Ian Robin is an accomplished Sales and Business Development Director, with over 20 years experience of management and strategy, channel development, and international sales.
Robin started the Skype Business Division, joining Skype as a Director in May 2008. It was Robin who outlined the strategy, recruited the team, built partnerships and successfully launched that $50Million enterprise. He was also a key player in two acquisitions, the last of which was an $8B sale to Microsoft in November 2011.
Previous to his time at Skype, Robin founded Identology, a biometric security consultancy; securing funding, building partnerships and acquiring distribution contracts for fingerprint readers, iris scanners and voice recognition systems from global manufacturers. Barclays PLC, Bank of England and Rolls Royce appeared on Identology’s customer list, which was later sold to Kyotec securities.
Robin knows what it takes to win and retain large volumes of customers, having spent many years in telesales, field sales and sales management within the IT equipment and services sector.
